2727 Kirby is a luxurious, 30-story, 400-foot, high-rise condominium tower located in the prestigious Upper Kirby/River Oaks neighborhood. It contains 93 units, 30,000 square feet of entertainment, fitness, Olympic-size infinity heated pool and spa facilities. Originally constructed in 2010, defects were found after a sheet of glass fell from the seventh floor and damaged a car. Defects included poorly installed glass railings on balconies, problems with HVAC, fire sprinklers, plumbing, electrical systems and waterproofing. All issues were rectified in 2014.

Scope of Services

CDC performed an investigation of the existing glass guardrails and podium cladding which determined the work was not code compliant. Based on the results of the investigation, CDC was retained as the engineer of record to replace the materials in question and provide design drawings for the replacement guardrails. CDC also provided litigation support
