Project Description

This $33-million Design-Build project is a 179,375 square-foot, ten-story office building originally constructed in 1982. The project was a modernization of the original building that included the removal of the original exterior stick-built wall and replacement with a new unitized curtain wall system in order to improve the energy performance of the building. The unitized curtain wall was designed to blast mitigation Level C with an ISC Security Level of 4.

Scope of Services

CDC provided a limited scope of services to the architect, including design assistance during the Design Development and Construction Document phases. The services provided were review and writing of exterior wall specifications, detail assistance at key transition areas, recommendations on exterior wall performance criteria and system types, field testing protocol recommendations, technical review of Contractor proposed systems, technical review of architectural documents, and technical review of Subcontractor shop drawings and submittals.
