Project Description

The Medical University of South Carolina Ashley River Tower is made up of two buildings: a four-story diagnostic and treatment building and a seven-story patient hospitality tower, that is connected by a garden atrium.

Scope of Services

CDC provided a full range of services on this complicated project. The building has a unitized curtain wall, stick-built curtain wall and horizontal strip windows. Our services included system design, shop drawings, fabrication drawings and structural calculations. In addition, we provided quality control assistance and guidance during shop assembly, mockup, and project installation. The project required a design that would resist hurricane force winds, surge flooding and seismic loading similar to the west coast and still remain operational.
