Charles Clift is currently president and senior principal of Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc., headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Under his direction, CDC has become the world’s largest curtain wall consulting firm with offices around the globe. While juggling administrative and managerial duties, Charles has still carved out time to remain involved in various project activities. His recent work includes the Getty Center in Los Angeles as well as the Angels of the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas that was nominated for ASCE’s Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement in year 2000.
While concentrating on curtain wall and cladding work for the past 20 years, Charles has also written articles for technical journals and construction periodicals, the most recent being “Limestone Cladding: The Engineering Side of Art” in The Construction Specifier, May 2001. He received the Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1975 and the Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Rice University in 1977. He holds professional engineering registrations in 18 states of the U.S.A. and is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Jeff Bayer is a
Vice President,
Director and Principal
Owner at Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc.
Mr. Bayer received his degree in civil engineering from Texas Tech University in 1979. From there he worked as a structural engineer for CRS Group designing and building structures for commercial and institutional buildings.
In 1983, Mr. Bayer joined Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc. where he is responsible for the production, drafting and engineering divisions. In 1989, he was appointed Vice President. In 1993, he became a partner in the firm.
Mr. Bayer has traveled throughout the world providing engineering services to various clients. He has served as the engineer of record for projects in Hong Kong, China, Singapore,
Philippines, England, Saudi Arabia and Mexico as well as the United States. He currently manages 45 full-time engineers, designers and technicians responsible for design, drawing and calculation preparation.

John Gustafson |

John Gustafson is a
Vice President,
Director and Principal owner at Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc.
(CDC). An integral member of CDC, Mr. Gustafson is the principal in charge of the west coast offices, overseeing both the Los Angeles and Las Vegas offices. He is also responsible for overseeing emerging markets overseas. He maintains an office at CDC headquarters in Dallas.
Mr. Gustafson obtained a
Bachelor of
Science Degree in
Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He has worked with many reputable companies as a graduate engineer, project manager
and curtain wall designer.
In 1985, Mr. Gustafson joined Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc., where he was responsible for the design of wall systems, reviewing documents and other submittals for exterior facade systems, writing specifications, witnessing laboratory testing and field inspection of installed work. In 1991, he was appointed Vice President.
Mr. Gustafson has recently provided consulting services on many Federal buildings such as the Denver Courthouse, Las Vegas Courthouse, Ronald Reagan Courthouse, Seattle Courthouse and Fresno Courthouse. He is currently consulting with clients on buildings like San Francisco GSA, Howard Hughes Center, and Mohegan Sun. Mr. Gustafson is also involved with several ongoing UCLA projects. Mr. Gustafson also plays a key role in many litigation and mediation hearings, utilizing his extensive experience and knowledge of curtain wall systems.

Kirk Osgood |

Kirk Osgood is
a Vice President,
Director and Principal Owner at Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc. (CDC).
A graduate of the State University of New York, Mr. Osgood began his career in the early 1970s preparing shop drawings and bid proposals. He moved to Texas in 1978, first working for Hendrix Glass and Mirror then moving to Haley-Greer, Inc. At Haley-Greer he was responsible for managing window and curtain wall high-rise projects in the Dallas area.
In 1982, Mr. Osgood became the Dallas District Manager for Harmon Contract Glazing. Administering a staff of 150, he was responsible for Harmon’s office and field operations. Mr. Osgood was involved with contracts for curtain walls on major office buildings in the Dallas area such as the Infomart and LTV Center.
In 1985, Mr. Osgood joined Curtain Wall Design and Consulting, Inc., where he was instrumental in establishing the Consulting division. In 1990, he was appointed Vice President. In 1993, he became a partner in the firm.
Mr. Osgood has traveled the world over consulting with various clients, witnessing field tests and installations of curtain walls. He currently manages 10 full-time consultants who are responsible for drawing review, specification preparation, field testing, on-site observations and manufacturing plant observations.
