Project Description

This $500-million campus will be the new headquarters to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification. The building's outward-reaching curves make its complex geometry unique. The 700,000 square foot campus consists of two six-story office buildings and a two-story reception building.

Scope of Services

CDC provided system design assistance, shop drawings, and engineering for the unitized curtain walls and the two-side supported glass wall. The systems feature clear laminated glass, limestone, aluminum shadow boxes, glass fins, and copper panels that are designed to withstand environmental, seismic, and blast loads. In addition, CDC provided shop drawing and engineering for the performance and NFRC mock-ups.
